What are Contraindications?
A contraindication is a reason why a service may not be given to a client because it may cause harm in some way. Contraindications can be broken down into at least two categories. A local contraindication is when a service cannot be performed over a certain area. Oftentimes, a client can receive service for the rest of the body, but not to the area that is contraindicated. A total contraindication is when a service should not be performed under any circumstance.
